Vamos a Costa Rica! (Let's go to Costa Rica!)

| | Comments (1)

6:30 am Saturday morning the 19 Mission Trip participants will arrive at the airport to fly to San Jose for our weeklong partnership trip with two Presbyterian Costa Rican congregations. We're excited! We'll be joining in on the mission on these churches, joining in their construction of new Sunday School classrooms, participating in one of their feeding ministries, spending time with their children, and sharing plenty of fellowship.

Sunday morning we will worship with our two partner congregations, Iglesia La Nueva Guacima and Iglesia Amor de Projimo. After some time in the afternoon at a nearby butterfly sanctuary we'll join in the evening worship of an English-speaking Costa Rican church.

From Monday to Thursday, our day will look like this:

7:30   Breakfast

8:30   Work with churches

10:00 Coffee and fellowship

12:00 Lunch

1:00  Work

2:00  Coffee and fellowship

4:30  Return to accomodations

6:00  Dinner

7:30  Group reflection

As for me, I think I'm looking forward most to the coffee breaks! More to come from Costa Rica!

A Quick Update from Costa Rica:

Well, we've finally arrived. The last several days have been very busy. Today (June 9) was our first workday. One group spent the day playing frisbee, coloring pictures, and making friendship bracelets. The other group spent the morning working on building the Sunday School classrooms. We have truly felt accepted by our Costa Rica brothers and sisters. Even though it has only been a day, we have already felt the presence of God in these communities. We say hello to everyone at home!

Amy (for everyone)
